It’s that time of year again…
Posted: February 19, 2009 Filed under: Uncategorized 2 Comments »Yes. The time of year when I realize how sick I am of making lunches.

I’ve written about packing lunches before. It is not my favorite job. Not even close.
This year, Andrew has picked up 2 mornings a week, as I sneakily made my gym appointment at 6:30 a.m. I know, I know. The kids can make their own lunches. But they’d eat twinkies and crackers for lunch! Okay, you’re right. I’m going to institute that rule next year.
But the reason I sat down to write this is that I figured it out.
I did the math.
I have made 3,420 lunches since Davis started kindergarten.
I subtracted their sick days. And the days that Andrew made them.
3,420.
That’s about 350 loaves of bread. Almost 200 cases of yogurt. 27 bushels of apples. 425 boxes of Little Debbie’s.
Thank goodness we send water in Sigg bottles in their lunches so I don’t have to think about all the plastic water bottles we’d have added to the landfill. (We use Tupperware sandwich containers, too!)

OMG this post is SO Wendy!
your kids eat little debbies?!
Love the fact that the numbers didn’t change after you subtracted out Andrew’s lunch making. Thanks to you we use Sigg bottles too. I wonder how many bags of pretzels we have gone through?
