I’m not a big fan of public restrooms, but sometimes there’s little choice.

You might be surprised how much research there is about bathroom cleanliness. For instance, the first stall is likely to be the cleanest and bathroom floors are particularly germy. Ewwww.

But today, it occurred to me that my picky-ness in regard to how clean the restroom seems is conversely related to how badly I need to pee.

Just saying.

  1. I avoid public restrooms whenever possible based on that research- an NYU study a while back showed that fecal matter can travel 20 feet propelled by a flushing toilet. Therefore I don’t want to touch *anything* in a public restroom.
